Numerous German municipalities are working with the climate protection planner for climate protection. The development project started in 2014 on behalf of Climate Alliance Europe, and the web-based tool has been in operation since 2016.

The functions of the Climate Protection Planner are being continuously expanded:

• Conduct energy and greenhouse gas balances according to the BISKO methodology standardized throughout Germany.
• Get to know one’s own position better by means of benchmarking
• Develop potentials and scenarios
• Contribute to the SDGs
