Bottom-up-Governance: successful since 2008

Since 2020, akaryon has been responsible for all aspects of the website www.eumayors.eu on behalf of DG ENER and DG CLIMA as part of the consortium in the Covenant of Mayors Europe. In addition, the platform is constantly being developed further, through which all member cities and regions of the Covenant report on their activities in terms of climate protection and energy transition.
Starting from here, we are involved in a wide variety of municipal energy transition processes both within and outside of Europe.

The Covenant of Mayors Europe (Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy EUROPE) is a voluntary association of European mayors and regions that has been in existence since 2008 and works to better and more efficiently achieve climate and energy policy goals by working together.
Since 2017, local covenants have also been established in five other major regions around the globe.
