The Energy Poverty Advisory Hub is built on top of the existing Energy Poverty Observatory.

The project is contracted by the Energy Sector of the European Commission to put in context

  • Clean Energy Package,
  • The Green Deal,
  • The Climate Pact und
  • The Territorial Just Transition Plans

To take measures against energy poverty.

The goal of “affordable energy” is closely related to energy efficiency and renovation or the energy transition.

In the project, the municipalities are to be particularly addressed as actors – it will also be possible to submit projects and receive support.

Akaryon is responsible in the project for all digital issues, platform, interface to EUROSTAT etc.

The project lasts from 2020 to 2022, it is managed by Climate Alliance Branch in Brussels.

Besides akaryon, partners are

  • the NOVA University of Lisbon,
  • the NGO ECOSERVEIS from Barcelona, which specializes in energy poverty, and
  • Aisfor, an educational institute from Italy that also specializes in this topic.
